A year, to the day, after their
wonderful old house in Damariscotta Mills burned---a total loss---the Williams
moved into their new home. What a journey from sheer devastation to a magical
new house, same place and similar shape but all new from the foundation to the
roof. Features in the new house were selected for energy efficiency, fine
viewing of the fish ladder in the backyard, and for Russ and Diana’s lives as
they are today.
We had the pleasure of building
their new home, working with them to define and design spaces, select
materials, and to bring their vision into reality. They were dear neighbors and
friends before the fire and even better friends today. A special year for all
of us!
